Do you believe that you are born smart or get smart? Get smart! The brain can (and should) be exercised. I have learned many things, with practice or the help of a great teacher, that I never thought I was capable of. Being smart has more to do with being enthusiastic about learning and being an avid reader than anything else.
What do you want you legacy in life to be? I want to be at least one kid's favorite teacher. I want to inspire people.
How is your experience as a Beyond the Bell Team Leader helping you become better prepared to serve as future teacher? In terms of building relationships with students, and having a supportive community of educators committed to helping you grow, nothing can compare to my experience with Beyond the Bell Programs. I learn by doing, and Beyond the Bell Programs provide a unique opportunity to step up to the challenge of being a mentor, mediator, facilitator, and teacher for some really wonderful kids. I feel a little more prepared every day.
What is something about you that we could not tell by just looking at you? I love learning languages and I have an encyclopedic knowledge of trivia. I'm also really into naps (...but maybe you can tell that by looking at me? Do I have pillow lines on my face again?)
What’s one of your favorite quotes? "Quotation is a serviceable substitute for wit." - Oscar Wilde
